Lynne worked with the homeowners on their kitchen, inspired by the colors of the coastal waters and stones of midcoast Maine. The hues of the green-gray sea and the spruce trees that grace the home’s property, together with the natural stones that can be gathered along its shoreline set the palette.

Featuring Brookhaven’s Bridgeport recessed doors, this kitchen remodel is painted in Balboa Gray (upper cabinets) and Green Stone (base cabinets), while the kitchen island adds contrast in Cherry with an amber stain. The cabinetry hardware is by Schaub. All the countertops are Honed Black Soapstone and the deep sink is Mottled Purple Slate (made here in Maine). The slate sink is adorned with a Kohler faucet with a side spray. New appliances supplied by others/homeowners are Wolf, Liebherr, Sharp, and Thermador and are integrated into the new functional design. The kitchen island features an induction cook surface requested by homeowners as a secondary cooking area. New spaces include a pull-out pantry, prep sink and a large refrigerator and a walk-around island. Plenty of room for the chef and their many helpers in this transformed kitchen.

The original kitchen had small windows, contractor oak cabinets, a peninsula and an oversized closet, all of which were removed. Inserting new large windows that take advantage of their gorgeous view, and making the kitchen functional as well as beautiful made for very happy homeowners. They can’t believe how much more storage space they have and how much larger the kitchen feels.
