What a fun project!
The existing kitchen had a small 4 x 8' laundry way in the back and two cooks tripping over each other in canning season. A new functional layout was needed.
The solution: move the laundry to mudroom, take the laundry space back, turn the corner and add pantry and island. Add a small prep sink, pull in the warmth of the cherry cabinets and a beautiful Quartzite countertops, and you have a kitchen for two plus!
