What was once a dark, all wood, closed off kitchen is now the inviting gathering place for the family. We used reclaimed wood from homeowners deck to make the island top and to accent the Wood-Mode cabinetry hood. And local 1 7/8" thick granite slabs top off the white cabinets and cap the new apron sink. White subway tile in an all around backsplash continues the classic cottage look.
A space under the stairs became the niche for the coffee maker, built-in fridge and pantry pullout.
